at base glb, bracts 1 pale slight but def. Bracts
to 5 mm long v. narrowly acuminate, green bel-

ed v. scarious borders. Sepals 4 mm long acumm-
cinate. Petals 6 mm, cut almost to base. Ins ped.
circle more than 23 mm. Fructing pedicels
peduncles strongly deflected. (Only other pos.
sce ts Costa might be S. palustris Fribk = S. flava
with which acc ts & has no "not at all ciliate
at base"

wither. Upper bracts tend to become 3-lobed
whch the 2 lower lobes are entire & linear,
the middle lobe broader & toothed; lower bracts
like miniature hro. Calyx glabrous with
entire lanceolate teeth, ciliate, not cut
quite to middle
