Perianth 5 mm. Capsule 7mm. Seed 3mm over all (which body is 1+ mm; tails broadish v flattish but very definite (20x). Stamens long, nearly almost (to within 1mm at least) tip? perianths)
v dangling from hex perianth parts now when capsule ripe. Lf slightly less def ligula but R.B.K not sure it could be called anisied (BVB)
Another ½ mm (a slightly less) long (see 9-7-37 for locus)
Juncus pelocarpus May G 274, BvBI 496 Fl but infl almost entirely ? "modified loc." 8x ref below, plants growing in puddles.
Lycosporium annatinum L. G 56, BvBI 46 Old infl. This is common in marsh across river? P has been noted all summer
Xyris montana Rics G 362, BvBI 451 Fl
Calamagrostis Pickeringii Gray G 134, BvBI 208. Plants (several) collected to compare with Calamagrostis D 8-7-37 (which see). Due there had some spikelets with 2 flo neither of which as far as R.B.K could see was maturing fr.
Query: Is it possible for Calamagrostis to bear a second rudimentary fl?
