No begin to look very green. More as yet glabrous. First bud-buds are present, but twig bear only few & no infl. Below from fence from C., opp. small barn. E Pr 234 = 450 6-5-30 Salix. North side of Logan a little down stream from D. 7 ft. tall. Same species as C & D. A low shrub with no trunk but numerous wand- like shoots from ground. Buds 1/4 in long in short 3/8 - 1/2 in leafy branches. These far less developed than those on Stabns v below. Low 1/4 in long glances late, very low acute, definitely adute, almost glabrous but not shining above, still somewhat silky pubescent be- neath on young pubescent shoots. Scales light green like D. Stamens usually 2, some- times at base & infl 3 or 4. Filaments glabrous; anthers yellow. Oland more less crenately lobed at top. * but with very few inconspicuous hairs toward base.
