upper one as well as the similar bract over top
joining culum. ? spikes 3-4, all near top of culm. Scales
predicled drooping or pedicle much obtuse. ?
spikes all q on stem & toward tip, cylindrical 3.5-
x1 cm. Spike 1, short stalked & nearly sessile. Perigynia
glabrous with about 2 thick raised nervs. Perigynia
6mm long tapering to 3-fortied beak, scarcely inflated
very firm. Scales a serrulate awn divided
at base, as long as perigynia or at base of spike shorter.
