with longish white hairs above on mid-vein beneath; same hairs on upper side of petiole 6-18-29 Kalanica augustifolia L. G633, BuBI683. Last yro. f. Sp. Bk P.R. northw. Pedicels hardly re- curved. [Also found this 6-20-29 Sp. Bk Trail, 2nd marsh west of Gladys Camp.] [8-1-29 Foose-le. Plain Marsh. FL.] 6-18-29 Cornus No fl or fr. Sp. Bk P.R. northw. Bark reddish-bro. just appearing. Might be either C. Ammonum, Willd or C. stolonifera Michx (the only 2 reported from N'fld). [1939 C. Stolonifera very frequent in this region. C Ammonum never found by R.B.T.] 6-18-29 Salix f? fls on young br. Sp. Bk P.R northw. Thought foss. S. balsamifera Barratt G324 = S. populifolia Anders. BuBI596 but outline of young br. is oblong-olate, sharply acute at apex tapering to base, St. reddish brown (a little browner than the Cornus (above). Young br thin v reddish, low serrate(or crenate) with incurving gland-tipped teth. Stipules small, obov orate glandular on margins. Base of young twig has copious long white hairs. Thigs upper side of petioles white hairy but even very young br.glabrous veining. Aments 1 in long or short young
