Petioles broad at this stage. If. buds scales very dark. Lfts 9. Infl. Crowded panicle. No calyx. The 2 purple anthers sessile on pedicel which bears at its apex (bet. the anthers) what seems to be rudimentary ovary with 2-3p style [8-1-29 No lf or fr. Harry's Blk at "Biggerlow's Farm" Lfts pubescent beneath esp. on veins, basile. Young twigs light green w/ black sp.ts at leaf axils] 6-18-29 Abies balsamea Mill G 65, BvBI 63 No lf or fr. Sp.
