The filiform lvs from rootstock forming a beautiful fringe in water [8-12-30 found at Highlands Pond] 9-3-29 Eriophorum augustifolium Roth G197 BoBI325 Fl. Marsh near edge east side McClennans Pond July 2 spec. seen lvs at widest 4 1/4 mm. [9-5-29 Fl. 10" marsh east of Highlands Camp. Bob & the same] #111 9-5-29 Juncus nodulosus L. G275, BoBI478 Fl. In gravel shore of Highlands Pond in front of Camp. Roots freely tuberoso. Plants 8in to 10sp lvs. Infl. might be considered lateral looking. Capsule & perianth parts rich, reddish brown. Noods 1oz (usually) 2. Very like ill BoB. [See 8-8-30 9-5-29? Juncus articulatus L. G274, BoBI477 with above. Noodies seems fraxo except perhaps J.alpina but not strict as in ill (G & BoB) J.alpina lvs not borne below the middle [BoB] and capsule not of fuse(G). But note that perianth segments are not acuminate, the sepals being identical.
