8-31-29? Scirpus occidentalis Chase G 192 BvB I 332 Fl. Highlands Pond (See 9-12-27 undoubtedly the same) But infl much more compact than all (BvB) v bracts as long or longer than infl. Bract lets more or less dotted with red rough points, not (at this stage) viscid at tip and tip varying but not abruptly mucronate. Scales copiously red dotted. #40 8-31-29 Stellaria borealis Bigel G 381: Alsine — Betton BvB II 46 F2. in various stages, no capsules opened. Rd from Highlands Camp to John Halls, south by out- let #1 little pond on west (See 7-6-29). Ripe capsule dark purple, 6mm long, i.e. twice length of sepalae live 3/4 in long. Styles as 7-6-29, some- times to 6 divisions. Very frequently only 3 (all on same plant) #71 8-31-29 Hieracium canadense Michx G 874, BvB III 329 Fl v fs. Highlands Bk above pond. If thig (Otherswie like 7-28-29 7-3-29 Clisogenes hispidula T.vG G637, BvB II 104 F2 Wooded point on east side of McCannan's Pond.
