8-31-29 like ill (BvBJ) P.h - but more like ill of P. alpinus Balbis BvBI 77. Floating lvs to 3\frac{1}{4} in. (incl. petiole) x 3\frac{1}{4} in, narrowing very gradually into petiole. Achene like ill (BvBJ) beaked [P. alpinus Balbis G72, BvBI 77] # 82. 8-31-29 Potamogeton Uniqe fr. Highlands Blk above pond. St. slender. Floating lvs on slender petioles to 2\frac{1}{2} in. Lvs 2 x 3\frac{1}{4} in, oblong, tapered or rounded at base. Near base often in axils sub- merged frs are slender, very short, very leafy branches whose lvs are similar to those on stem but smaller & crispier. Peduncle shorter than st. Immature fls 3mm. Spikes less than 2\frac{1}{2} cm. P. heterophyllus Schreb forma myriophyllo- phyllus Moland G74 seems only possibility [P. gramineus = Pheterophyllum Schreb. G73, BvBJ 78 says M.L. Fernald 10-9-29] 8-31-29 Phegopteris polypodioides Fee G35 = Dryopteris Phegopteris BvBI 23. Spores. Left bank Highlands Blk above pond. Note: all fronds longer (± 4 in.) than wide, the lower pair of pinnae quite detached from those above and strongly deflexed. Rachis & mid-vea freely chaffy & fronds pubescent (not glandular)
