Involucra 1-2 narrow linear bracts 3/4 in or less; involucella 4-7 sim- ilar bracts to 1/4 in. Calyx teeth not "obsolete" (BvB) but about 1/2 mm v sharply acute in fl. this calls me fr. Tips of petals inflexed, anthers lavender *(Nenace considers the possibility) Coelopleurum actaeifolium Couto Roze G.618, BvB II 646. Prob not because aromatic qualities v the thick lo.) (E) 8-19-29 Salix Prob the same spc. as (C) 8-11-29. Remains of fr. ament. Bluffs bet. mouth & Butter Plk v mouth of Highlands & aments 1 3/4 in. Long on lateral twigs, about 1/2 in, which have scars which may be lf. scars. Capsules acute, about 5/8 in long, tomentose, or pedicels hardly longer than immiscs. Twice as long as glands, subtended by villous persistent bracts. In undeveloped capsules, pedicels no longer than glands. "Style dailed, stigmas short & spreading notched" (G) "Style 3 times" (or perhaps only twice) "as long as stig- mas" (BvB). All this makes S. candida prob. atle. Note: Stipules not broad v concave
