Scapes to 2 1/2 in. high, noticeably hairy. Pyxis is ovoid, circumsessile rather below middle. Seeds several (7 in one counted). Calyx lobes with thick green centers (narrow in the inner zones) v wide decurive margins. P. major L. G 445; BvB III 2 45 (only small in size) 8-13-29 Atriplex patula L. Fls. in glomerules as small (tend to be mostly ♂ with a few ♀.) Fruiting bracts show no tubercles as yet. St. lvs. more or less scurfy v base & glomerules densely covered with crystalline droplets.
