Fl v old fs. Rt bank Trout Bk at fishing hole. To 16 is high.
Some hairs have the enlarged (but not red) bases
Lower fls are certainly in axils of foliage lvs.

7-27-29 Mentha arvensis L. G7II, BvBIII/52
Bad Meadows along Trout Bk, perhaps at fishing hole.
Not like M. arvensis of 7-25-29 nor like mint noted
at F & P Cabin which is ptsd. M. arvensis was
Canadensis [? 8-14-29 Fl. Rt from Crabber Station
to Highland River Bridge. But calyx teeth not
subulate (BvB) lvs not acuminate (G). Begin-
nings of branches in upper axils below inf.
Lower lvs purplish beneath.

253. Early fl. Meadows by Trout Brook
7-27-29 Betula
Well developed fs. Trout Bk. Medium sized tree. All
lvs under 6 cm. hence perhaps B. alba L. G335.
Otherwise var papyrifera Spach. Fluiting bract
has lateral lobes rounded v at sinus somewhat
overlapping the narrower ovate central lobe.
