4-4-32 branches so wide spreading as to almost flatten ground, later branches also wide spreading but not so nearly horizontal. Stds def. bisepalous with slant perpendicular hairs evident to eye & touch Lvs and disc 3-30-30"B" and with hairs on edges similar to those on St. Eldest fr. now 2 mm & while X is the ear like calyx limb. Limb acute, opening very like Bill Gate Prd "B" 3-30-30 and 12-29-30 were the same. Almost V. microcarpa's whorl frs are only pubescent not like this rough pubescence in lines. 4-4-32 Plantago Bellardi All Kn I 412 Box 259, Costa III 147 see Bax P. — has leptocephala Wells Bas 381 Fl. Note leaves are deeply regularly lyrate, with terminal lobe almost rhombic but rounded at top 2x2 cm, the lower lobes regularly ly- crescing to very small, the rachis narrowly rug. Fler winged, the lower leaf often purple. Has a little higher on St hairs periodic broad winged & clasping. Above there are the 3-4 almost entire or sometimes lobed brs which form a clasping whorl around St. All hoarfly pub. Petals & lower part of racios show definite or sometimes suffused purple.
