31-32 red. Lfts vs 8x2.5 cm. Stipules small, lanceolate acuminate, the uppermost entire, those slightly inve[red] down somewhat toothed at base. Infls not as long as lvs. Spdms only very shorty & bluntly ovulate. Pedicels shorter than calyx tube. Calyx 5-ommeral; tube almost equal. Fl 8mm overall; standard slightly longer than wings & keel. In calyx or 5 nerves now easily visible. Young fr (n=0) 2.5mm long, strongly rugose on side, sessile. 602A- 3-1-32' Hymenocallis baccara Wolf Kn II 4, Bar 158 N.-decg. Fl very young fr. Sent by Mrs Kennedy from [illegible] Raxa St. 6 in long drooping as though it might have been hanging on cliff face; lower part has collected green but stiff & perhaps woody. Sts lose glaucous & look glandular but really suberulent (20x) with minute appressed hairs. Lfts usually 6 pairs. 8-13mm x 2-4mm, thic[ke]able. Stipules tiny, deciduous. Fl stems almost twice as long as lvs & defr[idged] & arched. Fls 6-7 in umbel. Fl 15mm overall, fra- grant. Corolla bright yellow, the standard with darker veins. 3-2-32 Stachys latifl.
