6-18-32? Umbilicus vulgaris l. var [strikethrough]fasciculatus[/strikethrough] Knecht gaditanus form majoricensis Knöchle Kn II 45 = U. horizontalis DC. var majoricensis Berlols' Bar 184. Inflowly from Sepe fe. Sent by Mrs Kennedy from Sa Comuna, Valldemora with an infl of the Common form for comparison. The plant in question has the leaves at st 1s to 2st., many more of them velvety to- gether than in common form. Also fl stems much sluder, with sharper teeth v rounded, 5-sided. Calyx lobes rather thinner v with sharper teeth, bracts more slender v sharper at tips. In short the plant has not the clumsy, poorly modeled look of the Common form... hard to compare. Note: both plants 5-merous v bracts much longer than pedicels - stems nearly as long as the fls.
