"Stipules decitate. Peduncles 15-30 mm usually longer than lvs, with terminal awn of 8 mm. Fls clear yellow at first but later more 2-lbed begins to turn a rich brown giving like a bi-colored effect. Calyx 3+ mm long, teeth equal the 2 upper beds divided obliquely downward from their under sinus so that there are teeth directly on top. Teeth as long as tube. Pedicels as long as tube subtended by small cup-like bract which rounded onto edges and apiculate at tip, makes almost a 3-lbed effect. Fl 6+ mm overall, standard at longer than bed; wings def. obtuse than bed. Ovary linear (showing no sign of twisting) confined slightly beneath (lines about 5) but like the un- doubled M. at same stage. 4-18-32 Arctis verma P. Bs. Valle y more fld on south slope. Fls 7 mm high rather less across. Pedicels almost free, (oldest ped now 7 cm.. exactly as if Cote.
