Securely lined but not all at 4 sided? A 11-14-30 Centaurea aspera L. Kn II 406 Bar 268, Bon 179, BVH-265, # Fly fr. frequent R.R. tracks Port d'Inea to Sta. Maria. # B 11-14-30 Centaurea Caletrapa L (See Fr. only vols. R.R. near Santa Maria. Heads sessile (or almost). Pappus none Sparse 9 bracts 1.5-2 cm # C 11-14-30 Centaurea Fly fr. R.R near Santa Maria. Whole plant not collected but its perhaps decumbent. Pos. a cross bet the above. St slightly striate as in (A or B), nearly a quite glabrous not at all wooly. Lvs much like A except suggests A but lacking the wide spreading branches. Fl-heads instead of being on order branches 2-3 in long as (A) are more numerous. sessile or on short branches mostly slaty
