low all somewhat pubescent, then very young ones
markedly so. (But see 2-26-30 low J C. cirrhosa as

Grass by side of road Calle Bellver. 8 in high infl.
panicle with generally lots of Poa. Each spikelet on
slight pedicel (1/2 to 1mm) which enlarges at top. Spikelet
often 4 flo (perhaps when least disturbance up for
flo has fallen) with rachis extending slightly.
Glumes herbaceous slightly white margined
lower glume 1 1/2 mm long narrow, 1 nerved acute;
upper glume 3 mm long, pub 2x as broad & seeming
to broaden toward top, 3 nerved obtuse but not rounded. Both glumes smooth. Floret about 3mm
long, somewhat flattened laterally but lemma
hardly beaked. Lemma narrowly awned
leyaline on edge v deeply so at apex (about 1/4 total
length.
