3-14-30 lengths) Apex rounded, w/8 minute cleft. The 5 nerves, all definitely wooly do not extend into hyaline portion. Palea 3-nerved, the nerve as wooly as those of lemma, only minutely if at all biculate. Seed plump with no sign of furrow and has in fairly advanced stage a definite white cartilagen- ous appendage (remains of style) at its tip. Lvs 2½ in long by 3+mm wide smooth. Ligule hyaline 3-4mm long. Sheaths closed part length, sometimes almost to ligule. Culms somewhat compressed. Nearest guess is Alyssum ? sp. not in any reference book. 3-14-30 Quercus, flex. L.
