broadened & flexibly in lower half, narrowed above, reaching slightly above middle of sep., athura white or yellowish, seem to be attached in middle ? back, intense. Clary superior, 3-celled, with many scales on axile placenta. Clary dark blue, ovate, tapering upward to acute stigma. 3 whitish ciliate or papillose lines on outside mark position of cell walls. Gardiner says this genus from very large bulb. Two strap shaped, not stiff, to 2 ft long x 1 3/4 in wide, tapering slightly to less 1/2 in wide (pars blunt). Two somewhat though blue in middle but not banded or definite mid-rib. Edges with narrow (almost need microscope to see it) whitish membranaceous border very slight ciliate (or papillate). Fils open before scape has emerged from ground, but by time terminal fls had opened 4 to 50 scape was 10 in h. lone infl & unfl q in more. Scape solid 3/8-1/2 in thick. Pedicle 2 1/2 in below, 3 in near top, 1 in at tip. spreading. Pedicles subtended by a narrow lanceolate bract, the lower ones 5 in long, decreasing until uppermost are 1/2 in long. Bracts light green, nearer less whitish toward base, entire. Could this be Scilla peruviana? B.M.C.P. 169 (listed in Cat. J Case Veyard, Valencia where Dr. Carrell buys plants etc.).
