3-15-30 Buxus sempervirens L.
Shrub in garden Infanta & ft. high trees,
slightly puberulent in shallow grassy bet. low.
Lvs opp. oval or ovate, on very short petiole, (x) 18 x 9 mm
light green (x) 20 x 11 mm dark green; Coriaceous, en-
tire, narrowed at base, obtuse slightly flattened at
apex. glabrous, along mid rib beneath a light
(whitish) line composed of tiny dots (20x). Flores
sessile axillary clusters. Perianth 4 thin small
bracts, 2 oval, the other 2 a trifle larger & 3-lobed. Stam.
4 opp the sepals, filaments 4 mm long, anthers
2 mm. yellow, interior. Bet. the stamens at their
base what would be thought to be stigma,
fleshy, rectangular with a notch in each
side to accommodate filament. No sign ovary.
