3-26-29 walked up gorge just east of Kenova taking every right turn until came out on top of ridge & dropped down to auto road which at length crossed the Kenova - San Papin'a Road phone. Spec collected in gorge as noted great indicated as "road home". This seems to be part of bet. Palma and

Cf'd with F. calycinum Vir from roadside near Infanta &. Infl so in form of numerous 1-sided spikes each in axil of reduced lanceolate lf. the st. capules naked for about 2in from base to base of lowest H. These spikes forming long terminal panicle. (This dif from infl of F. calycinum whose infl consists of scale fls on upper part of lfy. branches, the upper fls in axils reduced into the lower ones extra-axillary). Fl's bracted, the lower ones extra-axillary. This char might seem to point to F. sericeum valid acc to Bar = F. creticum forma jaro-tratum acc to Kn. but other considerations seem against this.
