dentate, almost 1/2 mm high. Infl 1 cm+, very contracted
panicle (clunata receme, not 1-sided). Spikelet flattened
about 5-fl'd, the upper fl sterile. Lower glume very
narrow 2 3/4 mm long including awnlike tip,
scabrous
green & roughened midvein with white edges, 1-nerved.
2nd glume 3-nerved, broader 3 3/4 mm long inc tip,
broad white margins, mid-nerve little
scabrous at top. Lemma 4mm, 0-nerved,
broad white margined, bi-dentate, mid nerve
prolonged in scabrous awn extending 2 mm
beyond lemma tip. Palea white, thin with 2 scabrous
nerve prolonged at tip into 2 awns 1/2 mm, this
tip reaching to tip of lemma (not tip of jaw). Stamens 3. Rachis of spikelet minutely
