# Fl. above Formalitz. in dark green, pubescent both
sides. Root stock upright 3/4 in from roots
at bottom to top of ground [illegible] present low,
bearing underground runners below middle
stalked lanceolate with elongated tip, petiolate
with widely separated & not sharp shaped teeth
below tip. Sepals oblong, 3-nerved, often, narrowly
ly scariosus on margin, the posterior one rounded
at base, the 2 anterior ones truncate the 2 inter-
mediate ones narrowed into as sort of blunt ap-
pseudage; all ciliate. Upper petals lying back
against peduncle, the lower one rounded or
very slightly notched, lateral ones lightly beard-
ed. All petals violet same shade as cult.
one in garden & Infanta with white at center,
the lower ones with few dark veins in the white
Ovary pubescent. Stigma so small HR p 36 Bor.
Bracts on peduncle sometimes above, sometimes
below middle. In longer than broad (at least to eye)
& not at all oblongy. Fragrant. Spurs rather longer
& narrower than in cult. violet
