My note
Tuesday Aug, 11-91.
Looked over the collection of
Dr. Ruttine. One clamus he showed
us which appeared to be distinct
from any seen before by me. He
also presented me with a specimen
of Strongycephalus Ruttini' which
appears to have been found in the
drift. Also a specimen of Szygosia
bovalis? probably from the Dakota
limestone.
9.30 Started for Spring Valley.
About four miles west of by [illegible] a
cut occurs in the rail-road containing
the upper beds of the Cincinnotati' order.
About one mile further south meet another
cut occurs at a somewhat lower
level in this formation. The large
Strophomena alternata like our
L. corbyti' is common in this cut.
