"After dinner drove to Heidelberg
Dam about 4 1/2 miles N.E. of
Spring Valley. The bluff at this
point are about 125 feet high of
a blueish-white color and
thin bedded. Near the base and
in loose material to field picked
up two specimens of Syzyphia
borealis while also picked up a small
slab with several specimens on it
come 15 feet above the water. I
am of the impression that this
shewy comes from a still higher level.
On the top of bluff I picked up
Receptaculites Obvius, Torephoma
umbilicata and Myochronis
major indicating that the entire
bluff is of Salend limestone."
