Washington Aug 14 Tuesday. Called at the drury to see Piger and Hayes. Found that the Washington party would consist of Becker and wife, Davis and wife, and Dranner, Adams and wife, Bancroft and another person Mrs Fimger, Jeter and myself. Boleott can not go nor can Hayes. Otis Smith, Reed and Ransom are also to turn of. Called on Mr. Hefe of the S. and L. and found two booked at my ticket earlier than the 15th. Secured my ticket to go with the Washington party. Fare Wash- ington to Mexico City and return $4.90. Sleeper to St Louis $5. Telegraphed to Ordoney to hold excursion as follows. "Excursion rates Washington fifteenth. Arrive Monday. Hold excursion Okacasa." Spend the afternoon at the R.S.R.M. Had to dinner at the Chevy Chase Inn Mrs Coolidge, Miss Murdy and Mr. and Mrs. Barber. Then the lake and at 11 P.M. to the Metropolitan Hotel.
