Washington Aug 15 Wednesday. Slept the morning and part of afternoon at the H.O.R.M. until Barker, Moody & Smallm. Also saw Piya and secured my stuff at Cincinnati. So to Cincinnati Ticket Office my return and deposit tickets. Mr. Hoops wrote a list to local agent. Departed at 4:05 on the A.C.L.R.R. On the train are Mr. & Mrs. Becker; Mr. & Mrs. Adams Finney (sister of Mrs. Adams) and Miss Fitchey and Bancroft; Mr. Jackson, Pal. of Univ. of Toronto, Liberia. Prof. Davis and myself. Saw Gordon at Cumberland for first minutes. Cincinnati Aug 16 Thursday. Arrived on time at Cincinnati a little after 8 A.M. Left at 9. Walked up to Fifth and Main with Paris. The day was not hot only somewhat warm. Arrived at St. Louis at 5:27 P.M. Arranged tickets and sleeper and while having supper in walls Reeds. Chatted with him until 7:40 when he started for Rock Hill. Started for Mexico on the Lion but at 8:21, twelve minutes late. Car very warm do
