Washington Aug. 12 Sunday.
Got up at seven after a warm nights sleep.
Saw Bashin at the museum at 8.45 and
then to Cumberland on the 11 Am train.
Arrived at Cumberland at 2.05 with Gordon of
the train.
Cumberland Aug. 13 Monday.
Spent part of the morning with Bartley in
carry his latest Crislay finds. Had a great
number of Edricinus sacculus large fine ones
and small ones in clusters of three or more. Also
many Spirifur tuberosus and one fine new
Spirifer. This horizon is less clean in the lower
Crislay as I. cumberlandiae was common.
Much more material can be collected. The locality
is near Pattersons Creek on the Western Maryland
cutting.
In the afternoon saw a Baseball game.
Returned to Washington at 6.40 and arrived at
10.50. At St. James Hotel.
