July 14 - 1897. Boston Wednesday Looked after our food and practically have planted our order. Then purchased the necessary sailing outfit. Also a lamp, ther- ometer, and pick. Then looked around for a small boat or Dory. It is now almost certain that we shall not sail before Saturday. Mr. White spent last night at Brookline and to-night he goes to Worcester, to home town his wife. July 15 - 1897. Boston Thursday We have now scanned about all that we will need for the Greenland trip. A second small boat we have treated at Richardsen but will leave it to Sam to do the final selection. Spent two hours in the afternoon in the Boston Public Library Pearry and others are arriving to day.
