16 May. Wednesday. Overcast, but (89) Sun not completely hidden. Calm or nearly so. My lightish breath at times - about same temp as yesterday. Magnum & Carpan came in last eve- ing with five seats four of wh ich I brought into Magnum's cafe @ 7 & cut up before I could go to bed... One of the young women here is named Al- neerak and her four year old daugh- ter the same. I did not like the prospect of sleeping on the bed platforms with so many people & I told Lars that I will sleep on the floor if not inconvenient for the family. After I had gotten settled there Lars + three others bunked there too! And there were five(six) adults and three children on the platform - not much room to spare. Up at 4 o clock and away at 6.30 after giving Magnum a bottle for dog meat to side the stuff that I brought down in exchange for fun entertainment. Wanted to take some meat along but Lars objected, saying that he filled her chamber to get cool or warm on the ice. We are now (4pm) on the beach opposite the SW point of the island off campamento.
