Put up at he new hotel Eugene, Eugene is a town of 18,000 and the ships dark windows dream in the most progressive style. That it is a university town is noticeable in the number of young people about the theaters and ice-cream parlors. The latter are elaborate affairs here. Eugene, Oregan Wednesday March 2, Papus say that Oregan has had mae-rain by far than is usual. Hot again cloud today. Talked teleography most of the day with Professors Packard and Dodge. Had lunch with them and Prof. Smith. Spent the evening at dinner at Packards home with Mr and Mrs Smith and Dodge. Retired at 10 P.M.
