Eugene, Oregon March 3, Thursday First part of the morning correcting my pholo- graphic maps. Cashed my check for $270. Spend a fair part of the afternoon with Pachel and Dodge talking over Julorography. Phil Smith gave me a lot of pamphlets mostly on Physiography and Geography of Oregon and those I looked through during the evening. Eugene Oregon March 4, Friday. The geology of Oregon is still very little known, but what is known shows that its structure so far as Hood faultty is con- cerned is not at all like California. All earthquakes in Oregon are of a minor order showing that the vibrations come from else- where. Made some changes on my maps and at 11:10 A.M. started on the D.P.R.R. for Portland.
