Los Angeles, Feb 4th Friday It rained all the night and very hard all the morning. Remained in my room and worked on my telegraphic maps. In the afternoon hunted up the Denis of Cal, Southern Branch and landed pretty near the Denis of Southern Cal. Had to get back to the center of the city and then go out north to the Denis of Cal, Southern Branch. They are now between terms and the second one begins on next Monday. After a little while found the office of his best. deps, and first C.H. Crick- may, and then Dr. J. Miller. The latter told me what he is doing (see elsewhere for notes), and also Crickmay did so. Of the latter got or little that I asked him to dinner on Sunday at his hotel at 12:30 P.M. Spent the evening reading.
