"March 18-1924. Tuesday. Marathon
It is a cold, overcast and foggy morning
and rain
not a little snow in the air. Under these
circumstances will not go into the field until
it clears up. The wind from G.E. did not
change and it was miserable all day. Along two-
some day sitting around and reading.
March 19-1924, Wednesday. Marathon.
A dark morning and lo it has been snowing
during the night. The mountains are all in clouds
and at light red out they are to be seen all covered
with snow. By 8.30 the sun is out at times and
it once looks as if the storm is over and that
it will clear up. Talked over the situation
with the Garage man and he advised me to
delay until tomorrow when the snow would be out
of the cars. Another long day of waiting ahead.
Finally decided to get a car and man to take
me to Raymond. After going 3 1/2 miles the Buick broke
something and we had to walk back to Marathon.
The walk was in the teeth for cold strong wind. Drifts
in western Utah.
