Capsule elevate (but not strongly so), the largest 10mm long on a pedicell of 8mm; capsule (except towards tip) w/pedicell into the long spreading white hairs that are found on styles. (BMGP and Gleee. O. frutescens capsules as glabrous or sparingly gland-puberulent.) G says D. pratense has capsules 'sessile'; BvB says 'sessile' and 'about 10 lines long'. BMGP vs S.C.H says 'sessile or nearly so' v Hortus says 'fr abort.' All S.C.H. good flower plant. But pods are linearis rather than hispid. 7-16-38 Acer Negundo L.G558; BvBTI 498 No fr. This is shrub planted east of kitchen door as 'Snow Ball'.
