Nothrs. Woods south of drive. 7-16-38 Omorhiza longistylis DC G 613: Washingtonia Britton BvB T 628 F2 Woods towards s-w corner glend. Ident sure. Ufts look glabrous having only a few scattered short hairs. Style & stylepodium fully 3mm long. Crushed has the definite decanice odor of Sweet Cicely at N.H. Fruit O. Claytoni Clark (see 6-9025-38) col. 7-13-38 near Bouldana Spring where common. O.l. has ufts less deep cut than O.C. where ufts have a somewhat ferny look (all B & B good for both). O.l. ufts v petiols glabrous. In O.C. - the straight spreading hairs are very evident to eye at once. O.l.- has upper lvs def. peduncled. O.C.- has upper most lvs almost or quite sessile. In O.l.- beak very evident to eye. In O.C.- beak merely end of cone tip of fr. Nettles could be confused with Actaea rubra Willd. which has coarser, ufts. 7-16-38 Tree or shrub? Nothrs F2. Roadside southward just beyond the 2 willows by a tall juniper bearing a stump to Trespass sign. In & stiff upright shoots (cut from old stump) tallest not more than 5 ft. St. glabrous, dotted with lenticels, harnied green becoming reddish toward top. Lvs alt, firm nettles cord. ecous, turning very black as they dry, glabrous bright
