With above Dryopteris — Moore Chenille Lady Fern which it sometimes greatly resembles. 7-5-38 Apocynum cannabinum h. G 662; BVBII 22 FL with above. 7-5-38 Eleocharis obtusa Schultes G 182; BVB I 313 F2. Timber Trails, muddy along Lick Run. Achenes + tubercles about 1/5 mm. Achene lenticular; tubercle much flattened laterally. Colueto-1/2 in high. Spike 6-7mm. Basal sheath reddish. [8-4-38 F2 But achene dark brown. No other ident seems pars. With above. (or pro var. gracilis Bailey G 252 = C. Bailey; Britton since perigynia is rather abruptly contracted into beaks. But culm is hardly slender v low to 6 mm wide). 2 spikes 2-3 cm long, 1.5+ cm wide me. Beaks, 1cm wide not counting beaks. Perigynia 94mm justicle almost half is beak. 10 nerved.
