Spikes 6 about 12mm long less less to 2mm wide [7-15-38 Konkapot. 7-5-38 Juncus tenuis Willd G 270; BvBI 470 Adv. ft. With above. Cf with J. Dudleyi (See 6-22-38) which it resembles. J. tenuis has longer infl & is much more strikingly exceeded by lowest leaf. Auricles flw "long, thin membranacea" astley should be. 7-5-38 Glyceria grandis Wats G 159=Panicularia— Nash BvBI 260. (See ill Francis 204). With above. Spikelets purple. 2nd glume 2mm. But spikelet only 4-5 mm (G days 5-6mm). Ident seems sure. 7-6-38? Populus canadensis Moench B.M.JC.P.226 leaving from tree on East lawn at H.H. Desc fits very well. Lvs. 7-8cm v almost exactly as broad as long. Noglands.
