Near Bauhan's spring also same loc as 6-9. F2 usually 1/2 cm. Style & stylopodium 1-1.5 mm. Odor garnelish fs as dis. 6-9. P.B.I.K. sees no reason for changing opinion about ident. 6-25-38 Geum canadense Jacq. G 445; BVB # 370 FL v young fs. Woods north I drive. Receptacle "densely dairy"; peduncles softly v finely hairy (not "liriate with reflexed hair" as G virginianum). Petals pure white. So question idently. But among the deal basal leaves are pinnate interrupted. Other basal lv. (fresh green) are pinnate with 5 lvs, the lowest pair small, the others forming in out- lime an equilateral triangle, segments variously v t deeply cut with effect not ill in BVB. no Walton 142. (Geum in bud with the same lf found 6-9-38) 6-25-38 Collinsia canadensis G 71; BVB III 153 All infl. & new growth. No edge fs driz. Same frequent in parking space. Crush lf has rank odor tlike "Jimson weed." Petals purplish at base. (over)
