Near Baulan's spring (See Francis' Fl. 310) 6-25-38 Carex pallescens L. G 238; BvBI 415 Adv. fls. Woods north of drive 6-29-38 edge woods along road drive 6-25-38 Carex fr. R.B.D. near Baulan's spring. 2 plants collected because the stems triangular, unlike as in 'C. gracilis' of 6-22. v general looks very suggestive of that plant, with differences. (A) & spikes 1 cm long closely fld. ?spike inconspicuous (B) & spikes to 2.5 cm long loosely valt. fld. ?spikes sometimes 2.5 cm long v distinctly peduncled. Reviewing specimens after they have partially dried R.B.D. concludes perigynia taper to base is "fusiform- obovoid (G 2314) v the now distinct nerves elevated This with the obtuse tip suggests all are forms ? C. laxiflora hem G 242 (See # 124-129 BvBI 401-3) (A) and 6-22-38 have also perigynia alike and most like
