Not however as in Grisel C. prisco. 6-22-38 Oenothera FL (just opened) edge of drive in front of house, looks like a well established clump, just behind a lilac bush which "came from Mrs. Dean's. Very showy. Petals fully 2.5 cm v opened fl 4 cm macroae. Calyx with large glands tipping the hairs; ovary with (not many) long straight glandless hairs (cf with O. pumila whose hairs, not dense, are short & gland tipped?) Ovary 1cm; calyx tube (bet top) ovary base of petala 1.5cm; rest of calyx 2cm (articulate 4 teeth, spread- ing in bud me 3 [or more] mm). Teeth with long white hairs as ovary. St sloppy with similar hairs & stn'th similar hairs. Looks very much as will (B1B) of K. pratensis, repand. Should must be O. fruticosa L G602 = K. luteacea Reimann B&B II 602 (not like all W-F) N.Y. or O. pratensis L = K.—Small B1B #601. [3le 7-16-38 6-22-38 Oxalis stricta L. (See 6-9-38) FL. Same region v perhaps same plant as 6-8-38. St now ± decumbent. Cfd with O. corniculata from lawn-edge. As to stipules: O. stricta comes more nearly having them than O.c—does in that the part of petiole below the joint is flattened v free enough so that dissecting needle can be inserted
