South edge of drive, 6-3-38 fr. Desc. G fits reasonably well except stipules not at all evident. (Petiole articulated onto a slightly broadened base.) Petals tinged reddish towards base. Oldest fr. now 18mm., columnae as in ill.(BvB). Plant yellowish green, with st. reddish at base. No runners. Sts. erect. [See 6-22-38. 6-5-38 Luzula campestris DC. var multiflora Celsi G279 inc in juncoidea campestris Runtze BvB I 485 Fr. Woods east of house. Neals now pale brown. Bracts (or bractlets) at base of heads ciliate and those of upper flo "finfricate at apex" (BvB) [See G contra] but as seed has appendage at base, this is only possibility 6-8-38 Mitchella repens L.
