6-3-38 Silene antirrhina L. G 385; BvB II 66 Fl v fr. Edge of drive, north side, western half. Calyx lobes edged with purple. Petals dark purplish beneath, whitish above. Crown reduced to 2 raised dots. R.B.K. reported only plant in fl. but thinks there are others opp. kitchen door. [6-25-38 F2. 6-3-38 Arabis hirsuta Scop. G 438; BvB II 181 Fl v adv. fr. Woolseat of house. 11-18 in high. Oldest fl 5cm x 1mm Seeds in one row but too young to see if winged or position of cotyledons. 6-3-38 Lepidium apetulum Willd G 425 which acc. to BvB II 166 has been confused with L densiflorum Schreig Fl v young fr. Edge of drive, near Silene. Inv not clasping, stamens 2; petals none; pods orbiculars. Seeds too young to see position of cotyledons. Stem stiff, 6 in high, no branches. Now now on lower 2 1/2 inc. Pods far B. will be winged at top. All Inv now present narrow v only obscurely toothed, like upper Inv of ill (BvB) rather than like ill (G). [See 6-18-38 6-3-38 ? Oxalis stricta L.
