All pinnae (4 to) nearly triangular 6x6 mm, with base appearing cordate (upper lobe larger). But ill. Clute 161 shows similar condition. 6-1-38? Cystopteris bulbifera Bernh G 43; Clute 212 = Filix — Underw. BvB I 15. By a pit near road mouth of drive. Frond not yet unrolled, axis very young but c. seem only possibility (Dicleronia being been considered). Frond now 18 in? which contains stipe. Stipes light colored, smooth. Shape? frond like C. f - rather than C. fragilis (Clute). Frond minutely glandular beneath. No bulbets. [6-9-38 Bulblets beginning to appears. 7-10-38 So.] drive near Aspidium morebotuense Sw. 6-1-38 Saxifraga virginensis Michx G 446 = Micranthes — Small BvB II 215; WF of NY PL 87A. F2 (seen in H 5-18-38). Woods east of house.
