Entirely v petals parts underground F2 on short recurved peduncles entirely underground? No sign of corolla, stamens or styles (P.B.K. could not bar identified this except for Mr. G's help on 1-20-39) 4-24-39 Nicotiana glauca Graham T 888; M 459 Fl v unripe fr. Crespo Drive. Frequent along roads in S.D. County 4-30-39 Hemizonia fasciculata T.v G. T 1090; M 555 Fl. L.T along shore. Fl heads v parts exactly as desc. Still but plant only 3 1/2 in high and compactly 4-branched the heads in compact clusters at tips branches (not at all habit [ill(T)])(Poss this is same as plant found in bud 4-24-39) 5-1-39 Eriodictyon crassifolium Beuth T 834; M 416 Fl Bet. Rancho Santa Fe & Solana Beach. (See 1-20-39) Has been observed in fl. on Soledad since 4-3-39.
