The 3 stigmas (styles?) each neatly coiled in bud [5-18-39 Fl Det. Rancho Santa Fe'v So- lana Beach. Fine large spreading specimens. 4-16-39 Pentachaeta aurea Nutt. J 1039; M 517 FL L.T.C.C.H. One spec only col. St 4 in high, very slender, simple. Bristles 5 in all fld counted. Scarious margins invol. Beasts beautifully conspicuous (20x) [4-24-39 Blv fe. Frequent Neenadive 4-16-39 Baeria clerysortona FV M var gracilis Hell J 1113; M 561 FL L.T.C.C.H. Very slender st. 4 in high. Los filiform. Except for los pepo, definitely invol. v rays rather broader these have much the same look as the Pentachaeta aurea (when collecting R.B.K. mistook them for the same.) Very dif from Bg 4-4-39 this pepofpus same as 4-4-39. Heads 1cm diam overall.
