branches ascending. St. lvs v calyx hispid with
suberulate based tubercles where other lvs hirsute.
Racemes, now, to 8 cm. Corollas to 8 mm wide. Calyx 3mm
long. Consimilar nutlets 1mm long, the odd nutlet 1.5
mm. Nutlets not at all winged (indeed margins are
more rounded than "acute" (M)). Otherwise nutlets as
disc. (If using key we try F.F."nutlets homomorphic
or practically", which would be reasonable guess, the
best fit is C. barbigerus whose calyx v nutlets are larger
than ours v in which acc. to M) "spikes -- becoming
elongated, the flrst length remote v less second" which
won't do at all for our dense v very secund spikes.
Calyx lobes "narrowly linear" lvs narrow linear or
linear-lanceolate. Plant greyish green ("cinereous"?).

prot full sized or almost so) Banner. Ovaries 7. Flowers

Bracts subulate, silky, 15mm long, rather conspicuous
among the buds v seem inclined to persist, too?
