Bet Crystal Pies v Loring St. The rather bristly leaves on st, low, v beats often minutely branched (2x) at apex [6-5-39 Flv fs. Mis- sion Beach. Continue. 4-4-39 Matricaria suaveolens Buelman T 1138; G 847 MS 73 = M. matricarioides Porter, Fl. Crystal Pies region. 4-4-39 Senecio Californicus DC. T 1155; MS 79 Flv fs. Near foot Loring St. on bluff at beach. (see 3-9-39 v of undated 4-3-39) Very like M. Especially noted because low really thick v fleshy (much more so than in 4-3) vill but the uppermost bright purple beneath. (Suggesting that species of other genera may show similar def between coast v non- coast specimens) [see 6-31-39 4-4-39 ??? Atriplex californica Moq. T 326; MS 138 Fls ? of very young fs. Bet Crystal Pies v Loring St. Too early to ident. but good as far as evidence goes. ?v fls in same (lower) clusters but upper clusters may be all ?. Root not col. Part col consisted of naked, woolly, pros- trate, with several herbaceous (pres erect) branches from near its tip v an occasional one elsewhere (perhaps has tendency to root at points where these occasional branches arise. low about 20x5 mm on lower parts, decreasing in size towards tips of branches.
