Plants 2 cm or less high. & thin (cloudy) green in scale with only the thread-like sty- mas betraying their presence. [4-16-39 Ft. T.L. Pacific Beach near fort Florin St. Exactly as desc. except pod (now 2mm long) asymt about transverse ridges 4-4-39 Pterostegia drymarioides F.V.M. T 294; M 128 Ft adv. fs. But. Crystal Pies Florin St. As desc. Bract so small it would not be recognized as such in fl. Stamens 3 longer or 3mm long entire. [5-10-39 Flv fs. Pony Grade. 4-4-39? Sueda Californiae. Wats. T 332; M 144 Flv unripe fs. But. Crystal Pies Florin St. (found in one place only, a small gully at edge of bluff. Seems plainly this family (Satanese, pp 5 fleshy calyx lobes, stigmas 3, with what promises to be vast man article.) v thus the only poss. genus. Also ill (T) unw exact in shap detail v very like fs plant. But hs to 4mm broad are flattern-ed (this fleshy) v not “sub-erete” and plant (only upper part collected) seemed erect at least initially. (Acc.to T) what R.B.K. told to be a group of plants may have been the erect branches from a decumbent st.) All(M) best for habit. [6-5-39 Same species col. Mission Beach
